As a native Californian and former beach lifeguard, Celeste Murphy-Greene developed a passion for the environment at an early age. Her background as a practitioner, educator, scholar, and program director provides her with the skills needed to help organizations achieve their goals.
In 2008, Dr. Murphy-Greene founded the University of Virginia's online Graduate Certificate in Public Administration, where she currently serves as the Program Coordinator and faculty member. Since 2014, Dr. Murphy-Greene has also directed UVA's online Graduate Certificate in Leadership.
In 2022, Dr. Murphy-Greene founded the Center for Environmental Justice and Resiliency, a non-profit education, research, and consulting organization focused on building more environmentally just and resilient communities.
Dr. Murphy-Greene currently serves as Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science, History, and International Studies at Hampton University.
